Umm, well. it's obvious i have been MIA. October, really! So much has happened since October. it's almost October again! i am embarrassed, i am going to be better about this and make time to blog. i love it! anywho. let's see, where to start!.....
june's first thanksgiving - we brought the baby bullet with and pureed her a real thanksgiving dinner - this was the first time that she had a taste of meat(pureed turkey with all of the staple sides). It smelled wonderful, but all she really wanted was the mashed potatoes and broccoli souffle.
black friday 2011 - we put in an offer on a house!!! we found out shortly after that there were 3 other offers on the table.that following monday they accepted our offer, but we knew that this did not mean that we were out of the woods. since it was a short sale we knew that there was most likely a long bumpy road ahead.
junie buggs 1st christmas was successful - . She must have been on the nice list :) She looked adorable in her little red dress that auntie kate found for her. I will post pictures. i am looking forward to many more. to think of the excitement and the sparkle in the babes eyes during the holidays makes me giddy..even in the middle of july!
we got to spend new years with june's grammy k, grampy k, auntie(kate) uncle(sean) and cousins(ella and aud). we also celebrated my mom's b-day at the same time, we've done this the last couple of years and it's kind of fun. i do feel bad since my mom has had to somewhat share her special day with the holidays her whole life and i hope she does not mind now, but it's a good excuse to go a little more all out for a fantizzle party on new years to celebrate her being her!
the rest of the winter we junt kind of hunkered down, nothing too crazy happened.
in march we found out after all of the waiting that the 2 banks for the short sale accepted our offer. so the beginning of april was busy for us!
Easter(june looked adorable in her light aqua sundress) - we went over to auntie lynns house and had brunch, with an easter egg hunt for the kids, they flew kites and ran around outside.auntie lynn and uncle jarry have a great piece of land where the kids can just run. later in the day we went to dougs parents house and had dinner with them. had another little egg hunt.by the end of the day juner was pooped!
my birthday and dougs are both the early in april. so we had those to celebrate. nothing crazy. gone are the birthdays that you plan for months and take days to recover. maybe one day, but i know value time day and hate sleeping in(to a point) i'd rather get up enjoy the day and the people around me.
the next week we closed on our house. there was a pretty big hiccup. we were told that someone dropped the ball basically and did not submit a piece of paper they should have, when they should have, and the bank had not reviewed it and approved it. we were not able to close that friday. we were on pins and needles all weekend. the big issue was, that in our paperwork it was written that if we did not close friday, basically the transaction would be void and would have to start from "step one" again.thankfully everything worked out somehow and we were able to get a 1 day extension and signed the last paper on monday and were handed the keys!
we immediately had the full upstairs painted, including the ceiling and the kitchen cabinets. we also painted the lower level rooms. what a difference a coat of paint makes! there have been many changes that we have made and it is a work in progress, but we have time :) It really does feel like home. we have BIG plans for this place and love owning a HOUSE. so much better from townhome living! grass for doug to cut and june to run in..the thought makes me smile.
shortly after the inital upgrades to the house, june had her 1st birthday. it was a little crazy moving getting everything done and planning a BIG birthday party, but we wanted to celebrate. with the help of family we pulled it off. she had a successful rainbow party.
i can't believe how the past year flew by. where did it go?
my little babe is now a toddler with a mind of her own, a full mouth of teeth(12 so far) and is probably one of the funniest people i know. She is sweet and has a heart of gold. her body is a little heater, she prefers to be naked. she never stops moving and is into everything. she has her favorite foods...watermelon and blueberries are at the top of the list along with yogurt covered raisins and the pouch apple cinnamon applesauce. she loves sharing popsicles and freezies with daddy.i have cut her hair twice so far taking about an inch off each time. she loves tubbies, when walking to the tub she gets so excited she tries ripping her clothes and diaper off. she could spend hours in there if we would let her. her tiny toes turn to prunes. she loves music and dancing, side walk chalk and puppies. in her world everything is rainbows and lollipops and i hope that never changes. she has doug wrapped around her finger and mama can't say "no" either. she loves daycare and her friends there. i am so glad!
june also became a BIG cousin. ella and audrey have a new little sister, lillie ryan. she is beautiful. i was honored when my sister asked me take her newborn photos just days after she was born. i am by no means a professional photographer, but i do it because i enjoy it. i have taught myself everything i know and hope to continue to improve, learn and capture those special moments you never want to forget,or the ones that may have been missed. i love babies and little ones. the happiness they bring and the love that they represent. thankfully ella, aud, june and now (hopefully) lillie will let me continue to be their personal paparazzi.
that is the last 10 months in a nutshell. nothing to crazy, but that's our life. i will do another post with more pictures...there are lots of them!
xoxoxo
